Bridging Programmes provides preparatory programmes for international and domestic students preparing for undergraduate or postgraduate studies.Certificate in University Preparation
- for domestic students who either do not met requirements for university entry through their existing qualifications or for students who have been out of school for many years.
Certificate in English for Tertiary Studies
– for international students who wish to take a non-IELTS pathway to university. This course has both an undergraduate and a postgraduate stream, and enables students to increase their English language proficiency, study skills and understanding of a western analytical approach to study. The Certificate has been approved nationally as a non-IELTS university language entry standard to both undergraduate and postgraduate study.
Certificate in Foundation Studies
– for international students and permanent residents who do not meet the academic entry requirements for university. It is a 24-week programme of study designed to assist students from diverse educational backgrounds to meet the basic degree entry requirements of New Zealand Universities. This certificate is accepted as an entry qualification for the University of Canterbury and other New Zealand universities.
Science Headstart
– these are short booster courses, held in the summer months, for students intending to major in engineering or science in order to prepare them well for 100-level study.
