Bridging Programmes

New Zealand and Australian Students

Domestic Students

If you are a domestic student who does not meet requirements for university entry through your existing qualifications or you have been out of school for many years, then our Certificate in University Preparation (CUP) is the course for you. This is a fifteen week programme of study which helps you to develop the skills necessary for university study. Students who successfully complete the programme will be eligible to apply for entry to 100 level courses at the University of Canterbury .

Permanent Residents

If you are a permanent resident of New Zealand but you do not meet the academic entry requirements for university then our Certificate in Foundation Studies is the course for you. It is a 24-week programme of study designed to assist students from diverse educational backgrounds to meet the basic degree entry requirements of New Zealand Universities. Students who successfully complete the Foundation Studies Programme will be awarded a Certificate in Foundation Studies. This certificate is accepted as an entry qualification for the University of Canterbury and other New Zealand universities.
