Foundation Studies – Arts stream
So Young wants to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology so she is currently studying in the Arts stream of Foundation Studies. Her ultimate goal is to become an art therapist.
So Young is enjoying the Foundation Studies course as she is receiving a good grounding in academic subjects. So Young’s favourite subject is Environment Studies which she has chosen as her elective. “I know that I will be thoroughly prepared for starting my degree when I finish this course. I am finding the academic English course particularly useful too”.
Having visited New Zealand on holiday, So Young knew that she wanted to come back here to study. She is enjoying experiencing a new culture and trying out new things. So Young has also made many new friends. “It is easy to make friends on the course as the classes are small. I know I will remain friends with the people I have met throughout my studies.”
Although Christchurch is quieter than her home city of Seoul, So Young has adapted to life here. There will always be one thing about New Zealand culture that she will never appreciate though: “I can’t stand marmite, it tastes disgusting!”
